Sweet solutions for every home.

Hive Electro is an Australian-owned and operated business that provides professional electrical services and helps improve Brisbane residents’ living conditions.

Mission: To bring positive energy and sweet solutions into every home.

Vision: Create a global buzz in home electrical awareness and utilization.

CONCEPTING

Why use “Hive”?

It uses “hive” to symbolize the business’ target of residential work (hive/home) whilst conveying the business’s culture: a hardworking, organized team focusing on community.

THE DETAILS

Shape

The hive is hexagonal, representing home, and the bees are very diligent, representing hard work. I’m using positive and negative shapes and combining two honeycombs to form the letter H. The letter E is embedded in the honeycomb. Therefore, when the logo is rotated, it becomes a bee.

Colours

Yellow

Yellow is a positive colour, symbolizes happiness and warmth in almost all cultures.  It’s the colour that grabs users’ attention more than any other colour. It has the power to increase memory, concentration and confidence level.

Shades of yellow are associated with communication, and power. According to Feng Shui, yellow belongs to the fire element, which relates to the sun’s ultimate positive energy source.

The colour yellow is the perfect one to represent the mission of “to bring positive energy and sweet solutions into every home”.

Grey

Grey is the colour of intellect, knowledge and wisdom. It is perceived as classic, refined, dignified, and conservative, the perfect neutral as it can moderate brighter hues from yellow.

The selection of two independent colours highlights how different elements express a message of positivity supported by fortitude. This is a colour combination that gives us strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting.

Overall, the colour yellow and grey are the colour of the year for 2021.

THE PATTERN

Auxiliary Graphics

I use the outline of loge for auxiliary graphics, and it can be used as a pattern.
