Colour Palelle

Gold is a precious metal that is associated with wealth, success, elegance, and prosperity. That is what the business wants to gain from it. And the golden colour is an achievement connected with quality, love, courage, passion, and wisdom, which is Just Unicorns’s culture.

 

The colour blue is associated with wealth, nobility and power. In addition, it relates to trust, reliability and dependability, therefore helping to build customer loyalty.

CONCEPTING

How we arrived here?

The unicorn shape that continues the previous version of the logo is used as the logo’s outline. Then there is a female shape inside the logo, representing “Just Unicorns” hatched female entrepreneurs.

When designing, the unicorn has also made some adjustments: the unicorn’s mane has been changed to have an inwardly-wrapped arc, which once again represents “hatching”.

LOGO SPECIFICATION

There is no perfect but better

THE PROPORTION

The logo and text follow the golden ratio of 1:1.618, and every arc in the logo is also made according to the golden ratio circle. I use the golden ratio in the design because it is natural and creates aesthetically pleasing balance for the viewer.

THE ANGLE

330 degrees represents hope, which symbolizes abandoning the old model and moving towards the new model. The unicorn’s horn is 330 degrees toward the upper left corner. Similarly, the bevel angle of the text is 330 degrees.

THE SPACING

The text spacing follows the golden ratio of 0.618 times, the horizontal version combined text and the logo spacing is one-fourth of the logo size, also space between words is 3.5 times of vertical line of character.

Font Design

JU Sans is a modern sans serif typeface. A font with a bold style and strong character convey messages to consumers. I designed this font by paying attention to the combination of each letter to create a beautiful impression and appearance. The bevel angle of the text is 330 degrees same as the unicorn’s horn in the logo.

CLOTHING APPAREL

Sweatshirt Design

I designed this sweatshirt with Chris Ran Lin, a fashion designer based in Melbourne. We use dark blue for the primary colour, the logo as the pattern on the sweatshirt’s side. Because it is a co-branded, Chris’s logo is on the corner of the shirt. The sweatshirt helps to gain brand exposure when the staff members wear the clothing out in public, and it also makes them feel connected to the company.

ONLINE

Digital Design

Just Unicorns has many activities throughout the year, which requires me to design posters for them. Considering that all the audiences are online, the posters are designed according to the mobile phone screen size.

OFFLINE

Media Wall Design

More than 100 people attend the client’s annual meeting. The client needs a 10m*3m media wall with the theme of New Power, and the photo and name of each participant should be displayed on the photo wall. A captivating, high-quality media wall will draw the right kind of attention to business setup, developing brand awareness and gaining new leads, this media wall displaying the client’s message loud and proud at the event.
